For over 40 years Kyoshi Sheridan has been practicing traditional Budo arts. While traveling the globe Kyoshi Sheridan has trained in the orient under some of the most prestigious masters from Japan and Okinawa and has continued to travel back to the orient to continue research and studies of these classical Budo based arts. Kyoshi Sheridan’s direct lines of instructors are America’s martial arts pioneers, Robert Trias, Father of Karate in America, Douglas Gross Jiujitsu, and Frank Shannon Judo.

Kyoshi Sheridan serves under Grand Master Robert H. Bowles Shuri-Ryu Karate-do as one of the systems Chief Instructors and senior Yudansha to assist in the propagation of this classical ryuha from Okinawa. As a student of Hanshi Pete Rabino, Kyoshi Sheridan is an inductee into the Robert Bowles International Budo Society, which is the sister organization to the Trias International Society. As a former World Champion and member of the United States Karate Team, this coveted title was awarded for his martial and competitive spirit.

A direct student under Grand Master Steven Roensch the Menkyo Kaiden of Shinto Yoshin Kai Jiujitsu, Kyoshi Sheridan is one of 5 Chief Instructors globally that instructs this system of Jiujitsu.

As a member of the American Budo Kai International Hall of Fame and also a member of the ABI’s “Honor Guard” the American Budo Kai Society, Kyoshi Sheridan is a lead instructor at the Professional Association of Martial Arts Instructors which is a continuing education program for martial arts instructors and school owners.

As the Shuri-Ryu Karate-do and Shinto Yoshin Kai Jiujitsu representative for the all Japan Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, our dojo takes a lead role in the propagation of these system’s principles, philosophy, historical standards of its direct connection to the Bushi of Japan, and ethical conduct of the practioner themselves.

The art, sport, and science of the combative aspects of Shuri-Ryu Karate-do and Shinto Yoshin Kai can be found in the training halls of Sheridan’s Martial Arts Center.
